Any Lady SOV News

Not much is happening in the Lady Sovereign world at the moment until she shortly releases her debut album.

Do you know any news, maybe you've been to one of her concerts? Want to write about her?

Send me any info you have and I'll glady post it and give credit to you, anything S.O.V. related.

Upcoming Lady Sovereign Tour Dates

Still waiting for Lady Sov to release that album. News is actually a little dry on that front...I'm sure that Jay-Z and the publicity machine are just waiting to get out of the starting blocks.

But S.O.V. is still touring heavily. I checked out her myspace page and it has a load of tour dates.

Including a free concert!

Check it out:

On Tour:
July 30 : Summer Stage, Central Park, New York
Aug 4: Lollapalooza, Chicago
Aug 12-13 : Summer Sonic Festival, Tokyo & Osaka, Japan
Aug 25 : Leeds Festival, England
Aug 27 : Reading Festival, England
Sept 2 : Bumpershoot Festival, Seattle
Sept 3 : Osheaga Music Festival, Montreal

The July 30 date is FREE, probably be crammed of people but FREE nevertheless.

She's hitting up some pretty big events including Lollapalooza and Reading.

Prepare world, prepare to be hit by SOV!

mp3.com disses Lady SOV!

Check out this loser, Jim Welte, over at mp3.com

He says about Lady Sov:

inconceivably landed a record deal with Jay-Z's Def Jam despite lacking any redeeming quality other than a feistiness that is cute in a Punky Brewster sort of way

Then goes on to say:

In a short set of tracks off her upcoming album, the pint-sized rapper displayed minimal stage presence, a grating voice, and an overall amateur-level performance.

Sovereign's sound fits into the mold that M.I.A. carved out with last year's Arular, but without M.I.A.'s London Sri Lankan patois, magnetism, and ability to rhyme.

Unbelievable! What do you think of this guy?
